How to Find Out Which App Is Displaying Toast Notifications on Your Android Phone

Notifications on Android are sometimes annoying. Especially that little popup toast messages that normally you see on the bottom looks odd and annoying. These toast messages come and disappear and that’s all. Sometimes I think what their purpose is; I mean, it comes, and then vanish, and we can’t even change their settings. Similarly, neither we can trace which app is sending nor causing these annoying messages in the first place.

If you also get disturbed by these toast messages, and you don't even know their purpose; I have good news for you. Yes, there is an app by Michal Jakubowski that can help you out in this regard. Using this toast source app, you can now view the toast message app on your smartphone, and it allows you to overlap the app's icon on toast messages, and thus they become clickable. In simple words, this tool is a savior. Let’s check out how to use it.

First Install Toast Source

The app developed by Michal Jakubowski is known as the Toast Source App. The app is available on Google Play Store, and you can search for it by name. Downloading is simple, just like other apps on the store, and it is free.

Now Enable the Accessibility Service

When you open this app for the first time, it will ask you to enable accessibility services. This is how it works and identifies toast messages, so click on the "Yes" button to continue. Next, you’ll have to check "Toast Source Detection Service," then enable the switch located on the top side of the menu. Now, return to the app’s main page by double-tapping the screen.

Allow Toast Tracking Functions

For better and optimum functionality, permit all toggle switches that you see on the app's main screen. Check "Toast Source" from your phone’s settings menu, and click this option: "allow display over other apps." Then go back to the app’s main page and enable remaining toggles.

Find those Mysterious Toast Messages and their Source

Now all toast messages that you will receive on your phone will be cloned to your phone’s notification tray silently. So, when you see those mysterious messages just go to your notification tray, and you can view the actual source of the messages. You can view the app’s name along with its other details. That’s it; mystery solved.

If you somehow overlook this notification or dismissed it accidentally, just go to the Toast Source app and look for the "Show Saved Toasts" tab. You will find it on the bottom side of the main menu. Now you can see all the toast messages that were annoying you, and you will find messages since you set the Toaster Source App.
